Story
In October, myself and a few family members are participating in the Choosing Hope walk. Along with this, I will also be walking 30km over 3 days, in recognition of the 3 babies who die after birth and before their 1st birthday. I am doing these walks in memory of my daughter, Lucy Elizabeth, and in hopes to raise funds and awareness for Bears of Hope.
Bears of Hope supply bears (+ many other resources) to bereaved parents, recognising their grief. I received a bear, ‘Xavier’, who supports parents that have lost their baby in the NICU. They have 3 bears, supporting parents dependant on how they lost their angel baby, adding a personal touch.
This organisation means a lot to me personally, as I have been able to access free counselling targeted at bereaved parents. They are not-for-profit so every cent donated counts. I would be genuinely grateful if you even had $1 to donate - this feels like something I can do for my daughter and I would love for my friends and family to get behind me.
For every $100 raised, a bear (+ other resources) will be supplied to grieving parents, and tagged in Lucy’s name. This means a lot to me as I would love to help as many parents as I can through this, and also to recognise my daughter through the tags.

We provide exclusive and invaluable support programs that include a credible foundation of parent led and psychologist facilitated support groups, private online peer to peer support communities, phone, face to face, online and email counselling and annual community events that remember individual baby’s and recognize their parents love. Bears Of Hope comfort, acknowledge, inform, empower, and guide families during their time of loss and beyond.
As a registered non-profit organisation we are dedicated to the care of others and reinvesting our finances and resources to ensure the mental health needs and wellbeing of parents are being met and embraced for as long as as required.
